MEDFORD LIONS CLUB

Present:  The First Annual Highway 13 Garage Sale

"The Longest Garage Sale In Wisconsin"

A new and exciting event is coming to Taylor County.  The Lion/Lioness Clubs of Wisconsin are sponsoring the "Longest Garage Sale in Wisconsin" on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 15, 16 & 17, 2006.  The Lions Clubs located along a 275-mile stretch on Highway 13 from Port Wing to the Wisconsin Dells will be featuring fun-filled, weekend family activities.

A similar event takes place every year along U.S. Route 127 running through the states of Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama, 430 miles long.  It runs for ten days and attracts literally thousands of people from all over the country.

The Taylor County Lions are offering the grader shed at the Taylor County Fairgrounds on the corner of Highway 13 & 64 for any participant who would like to set up a display of garage sale or flea market items, antiques, collectibles, furniture, crafts or goodies.  Anyone who lives off the Highway 13 stretch, who is interested in running a garage/yard sale, may purchase a double-sided 2 feet wide by 3 feet high sign fro $10 from the Lions.  The signs will beckon travelers to the side roads where even more sales and special events are taking place!

The Stetsonville Village-Wide Garage Sale will also be held in conjunction held at the Centennial community Center in Stetsonville on Thursday, June 15th.  Rent a 10 x 10 space for $10.00. (Extra tables available for $2.00).  Crafters welcome!  Pizza, nacho chips, and beverages also available for purchase.  Call the Centennial Community Center at 678-2000 for more information.

Interested participants or those with questions, please contact Lion Shirley Lemke at (715) 785-7573 or Lion Marcia Kuenne at (715) 748-4592.

So, come join in the fun.  Whether you collect old hats, fishing lures, dolls, tools or just about anything you can image, come & find your treasures at "The Longest Garage Sale in Wisconsin" on June 15, 16 & 17th.
