Trudi Gunn with the gun she won at the 2008 fishing contest.

All decked out in their sub-artic apparel, Carol Mudgett and Ronda Lewan set out to canvas the ice and sell tickets for the special on site raffles.

Member Darrel Romig studies the leader board to see who is winning each category. The background shows the enlarged pavillion.

Everyone smiles when kids are the winners. First prize winner in the Bass category was Caleb Nedden.

Not quite your ordinary, every-day ice fishing shack.

This photo shows the area around the aerator on the Miller Dam Flowage. Barrels are placed around the area to warn fishermen, snowmobilers, and atv enthusiasts that the ice is open there.  It is located near the Lion's Club pavilion and boat dock.

Pavilion Project

The pavilion expansion project is now complete. Northfork Construction won the bid. The new pavilion has plenty of room for family gatherings and will soon have 7 new picnic tables, 2 of which will be specially made for wheel chair use. Persons wishing to use the electricity must pay a small deposit to have it turned on. Call Carol Mudgett at 668-5407 or Earl Chwala at 668-5661. The project funding came from the County Power Line Grant, business and individual donations, Taylor County Sportsman’s Club, and the MDLA.

Walleye Stocking

The MDLA, along with the Taylor County Sportsman’s Club, Chelsea Conservation Club, and the Chequamegon Spur Time Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, purchased walleyes to stock the Miller Dam Flowage. In early November members were on hand to see 2,700 walleye fingerlings released. The legal length limit for walleyes on the flowage is 15 inches. Luke Klink reported this with photos in the Star News. ************************************************************************

Storage Shed

Members authorized the building of a 12 x 20 storage shed. It is completed and is currently located between the Hook, Line & Sinker Bait Shop and Mudgett’s home. Items used for the fishing contest and other seasonal items will be stored there.
